چکیده
This paper presents novel findings regarding the use of alkali-activated slag for development road applications and, more particularly, how interactions that occur between binder and organic matter originally present in soil can strongly affect its reactivity process stabilization solidification. The study uses mechanical performances macroscopic characterization, such as isothermal calorimetry thermogravimetric analysis pure binders well soil-binder mixes order to characterize hydration mechanisms. By analyzing chemical composition extracted with three different alkaline activators, it is shown both humic fulvic acids are strong complexing agents, not only calcium aluminum ions, noted existing scientific literature, but also highly soluble silicon. In this study, sodium hydroxide activated was found be a suitable subbase layer development.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
1. Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) is a by product of the steel industry. Blast furnace slag is defined as “the non-metallic product consisting essentially of calcium silicates and other bases that is developed in a molten condition simultaneously with iron in a blast furnace.” [1] In the production of iron, blast furnaces are loaded with iron o...
متن کاملSoil Stabilisation Using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag
Stabilisation is a broad sense for the various methods employed and modifying the properties of a soil to improve its engineering performance and used for a variety of engineering works. In today‟s day soil stabilisation is the major problem for civil engineers, either for construction of road and also for increasing the strength or stability of soil and reduces the construction cost. In this t...
متن کامل“Ground Granulated Blast Slag (GGBS) In Concrete – A Review”
Concrete is a mixture of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water. Concrete plays a vital role in the development of infrastructure Viz., buildings, industrial structures, bridges and highways etc. leading to utilization of large quantity of concrete. On the other side, cost of concrete is attributed to the cost of its ingredients which is scarce and expensive, this leading to usage o...
متن کاملAcoustic Absorption of Hemp Walls with Ground Granulated Blast Slag
Unwanted sound reflection can create acoustic discomfort and lead to problems of speech comprehensibility. Contemporary building techniques enable highly finished internal walls resulting in sound reflective surfaces. In contrast, sustainable construction materials using natural and vegetal materials, are often more porous and absorptive. Hemp shiv is used as an aggregate and when mixed with li...
